Apply for Funding
United Way is committed to building resilient and thriving communities where no one is left behind through Front-Line Agency Funding and Social Sector Development Grants.

Applications for multi-year grants for two funding streams: Front-Line Agency Funding and Social Sector Development Grants are now closed, and successful applicants have been notified.
For more than 80 years, United Way of the Alberta Capital Region has focused on creating a community where everyone can thrive. As times change and new challenges emerge, so does our approach.
That’s why we’ve launched a new Community Impact Strategy, with a focus on three key areas in our community: mental health, education, and financial security.
Our investments through Front-Line Agency Funding and Social Sector Development Grants will help create a strong and vibrant community that can respond to new and urgent needs and take on systemic challenges. We’re always adapting, evolving, and listening so we can continue to create long-term impact in partnership with local front-line agencies and social sector experts.
Our Focus Areas

Strengthening Mental Wellbeing
Strong mental health is a vital aspect of a person’s overall wellbeing. It influences how they cope, learn, work, and contribute to our community. There is a significant unmet need for mental health services in our region, and it’s challenging to navigate the system. United Way collaborates with partner agencies to support mental health in our community, championing accessible resources, raising awareness, improving navigation, and promoting early intervention. By developing a robust network of resources and improving accessibility, we make it easier for people to find the support they need.

Eliminating Barriers to Educational Success
Graduating high school sets a strong foundation for a successful and stable future. But too many families experience barriers that make it harder to stay in school. United Way and our partners break down these barriers, empowering people to embrace the power of education. We support services and resources that improve school readiness and academic achievement, increase school and community engagement, and develop resilience to handle life’s challenges. By championing equitable educational opportunities from early years to high school, we can help everyone thrive academically and socially.

Empowering Financial Security
In order for a community to be resilient, people must have access to a diverse range of employment and income opportunities that enable financial security. Key steps along the path to financial security include training, employment opportunities, and financial empowerment tools. United Way and our partners support comprehensive programs and initiatives that provide financial education, resources, and opportunities for economic empowerment, ensuring that everyone has the knowledge, tools, and confidence to secure a brighter future. Together, we can create a future where everyone can achieve their dreams through financial security.
